Indian fusion dance—often called Bollywood dance—is where my love for movement, music, and culture truly comes alive. I’ve been dancing since childhood, especially during Diwali parties, weddings, and graduation celebrations, where the energy of the crowd and the joy of the moment made every performance unforgettable.
But in 2023, this passion took on a new rhythm. I joined the Daksha Dance Troupe, a group that brings together dancers who share a love for blending classical Indian styles with modern beats and cinematic flair. Through Daksha, I’ve had the chance to choreograph, collaborate, and perform more formally—while still holding onto the expressive, joyful spirit that first got me dancing.
For me, Indian fusion dance is more than movement—it’s storytelling, celebration, and connection. It’s where tradition meets creativity, and where I feel most myself.
I joined the Daksha Dance Troupe, a vibrant school and community based in Malvern and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Daksha specializes in professionally taught South Asian Bollywood Fusion—blending styles like Bhangra, Hip-Hop, Tollywood, Kuthu, Bharatanatyam, and Contemporary. Through Daksha, I’ve had the opportunity to perform, collaborate, and grow as a dancer.
Now, I’m also proud to be interning as a teacher with the troupe—helping others learn, choreograph, and connect through movement.
